How to Get Published in an Academic Journal
Advice from the Editors
RSVP’s Digital Events committee is thrilled to welcome editors of three top academic journals for a special professional development session on how to get published in an academic journal. The session will take place Friday, November 21, 2025 at the usual time (8 a.m. Pacific / 11 a.m. Eastern / 4 p.m. British time / 5 p.m. Central European time).
During this panel talk, three editors of peer-reviewed journals in Victorian studies will provide their tips on successfully publishing an academic article. Their insights and experience will defamiliarize the process, from writing your article to submitting it to the right journal to navigating the review process to publication.
Our speakers include:
- Devin M. Garofalo, editor of Victorian Poetry and Assistant Professor of Literature at UC-San Diego
- Katherine Malone, editor of Victorian Periodicals Review (RSVP’s flagship journal) and Associate Professor of English at South Dakota State University
- Janice Schroeder, editor of Victorian Review: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Victorian Studies and Professor of English at Carleton University
The panel will be moderated by RSVP’s graduate representatives, Vic Bartness and Gillian Walters.
As always, this panel is free and open to all, but will be of particular interest to graduate students and early career scholars. We hope you join us!
