Applying for a Curran Award? This Grants-Crafting Workshop Can Help!

Digital Events are back after a summer away! We’re kicking off Friday, September 5 at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET / 4 p.m. BT / 5 p.m. CET with a grants-crafting workshop devoted to answering your questions about applying for a Curran Fellowship (applications due October 15!). This event features expert speakers who will offer grants-crafting help and advice for prospective applicants. While this event is aimed at graduate students, independent scholars, and early career scholars, all are very welcome!

Whether you’re intending to apply for a Curran Research Grant this year or simply curious about ways that RSVP could support your research, join us to learn more about RSVP’s Curran awards program. This DigiEvent will feature speakers with expertise as former grants adjudicators for RSVP and successful Curran award winners. Our speakers will answer questions and offer guidance through the application process, including the ingredients that make for a successful Curran application.

Our speakers include Michael de Nie (former Curran committee chair), with Jim Mussell and Candace Ward, who are both former Curran Fellows with RSVP grants adjudication experience. The session will be chaired by Clare Horrocks, herself a former Curran Fellow and current member of the DigiEvents committee.

About the Curran Fellowships

Generously supported by a bequest from Eileen Curran, this award offers travel and research grants intended to aid scholars wishing to make use of primary print and archival sources on British periodicals from the long nineteenth century. At least six Curran awards are given every year with a maximum value of $6,000 each.

The application portal opens 15 August and closes 15 October.
