In memory of Barbara Quinn Schmidt, Josef Altholz, and William Scheuerle
Our two graduate student travel awards, named for Barbara Quinn Schmidt and Josef Altholz, both pioneers in periodical studies and longtime active members, are designed to help defray the cost of travel to the RSVP conference for graduate-student members (or prospective members) of the Society.
The William Scheuerle Travel Award is named in honor of a founding member of RSVP and former editor of the VPR. Bill was a steadfast Board member and conference attendee from early in his career and throughout his retirement, and so it gives his RSVP colleagues great pleasure to make available this award, which is intended to enable independent and retired scholars to come to the RSVP conference.
When submitting a paper proposal for an RSVP conference, please indicate if you would like to be considered for one of these awards. Any inquiries may be sent to president @ rs4vp.org.
